What's happening in 3P!

3P have been doing a project on teeth. We conducted an experiment to test which drink made teeth decay the most. We used egg shell as this is similar to the enamel on teeth. We left the eggs in different liquids for a week and checked daily the effect coke, orange juice, apple juice, lemonade, vinegar, water and milk had on the shells. At the end of the week we found out that liquids which contain acid rather than sugar were the worst for your teeth.

Soon we are going to be researching different animals. We will look at their teeth to determine whether they are a Omnivore, Carnivore or a Herbivore.

Day trip to Southend

On Tuesday 21st June Year 2 all went on a trip to Southend. When we went back to school the next day we had to send postcards as if we were sending them from Southend. Here are a couple of the postcards we wrote:

Dear Taylor
I'm having a great time at the Southend beach. We have had an ice cream and bought a souvinier to remember the time we had. We paddled in the sea and built sand castles. We got there by a car.

PIrates Day!

In Class 2C we had to all come to school dressed as pirates for 'Pirates Day'
We all dressed up and looked amazing!
In the afternoon we all went out onto the playing fields for a treasure hunt. We were all put into teams for this. I was inthe red team with my friends Charlie and Adea. It was really close but our team just managed to win the treasure hunt.
We had a fantastic day and would love to do this again!

Space

In Class 2C we have been learning  about  space. We made our own planets and we made them out of Paper mache.
We learnt that the sun is burning hot like a lather ball.
If space men go to near to the sun they will burn into tiny pieces.
The Earth is as smooth as a soft ball.
The solar  system is in a dark planet far far away.
In Space there is no graverty so even big giant rocks float.
We also found out that Neil Armstrong was the first man to travel to the moon.
There is lots of rubbish on the moon.
